Mr. Stroud was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from St. Louis University in 1973 and graduated with honors from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1976. After graduating law school he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Tom Stagg in the Western District of Louisiana. He then worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Louisiana for six years, the last two of which he was chief of the criminal section. Subsequently, he served as the First Assistant District Attorney for Caddo Parish, Louisiana for six years. Mr. Stroud has been in private practice since 1989 and has maintained a general civil and criminal practice in the state and federal courts of Louisiana on both the trial and appellate levels.
